Seriously… we were dying while writing this post. It’s the Italian treat that we’ve all come to crave and that pizzerias from around the world have adopted to suit all varieties of taste and preference. And while Colorado Springs might be thousands of miles away from Italy, the pizza scene is alive and well!
Here’s our list of the best pizza places in Colorado Springs, broken down into all of our favorite categories!
Whether you’re looking to get a quick midday bite or grab a midnight snack, Fat Sully’s is the perfect stop for some delicious New York style pizza. You can order your meal as a slice or as a massive 26” pie, which makes it a great place to come on a downtown lunch break or with your family and friends — either way, you are going to want to come hungry.
Sitting at the intersection of East Colorado Springs and Downtown, this pizza joint is bringing the city together over everyone’s favorite Italian dish. Leon Gessi New York Pizza is a family owned business that’s been in operation since 1974. They specialize in New York-style pizza, while also serving delicious subs, salads, and more. They use fresh, homemade ingredients every day, making for an authentic slice of New York pizza.
Ruffrano’s Hell’s Kitchen Pizza is serving New York Pizza from three locations in Colorado Springs and Manitou Springs. If you’re craving something unique and on more of the spicy side, order the flaming hot Hellfire pizza. For anyone with dietary restrictions, grab a delicious gluten free or vegan pizza. Head in for your next slice or, if you want a cozy night in, opt for their free delivery option!
Slice 420 is serving up more than New York style pizzas — they’re also on a mission to help children, veterans, and the sick by donating a portion of their proceeds to several nonprofits. They are a family-owned restaurant that is dedicated to delivering delicious pizza, using quality ingredients, and supporting a cause that’s near to their hearts. Stop by to grab a slice or two and learn about the work they are doing in our city.
Poor Richard’s is one of the O.G.s in Colorado Springs’, especially when it comes to delicious pizza. Downtown residents, workers, and out of town visitors have loved this little haven well for more than 40 years now. Head on in to build your own pizza, grab a glass of wine, and likely catch a local playing some tunes. While you’re there, visit the adjoining toy store and bookstore, both full of treasures for the entire family!
🍕Poor Richard’s also happens to be a stop on The Original Colorado Springs Food Tour! Sound like fun? Reserve your spot today!
Bambino’s Urban Pizzeria takes quality and transparency seriously. If you drop by the restaurant, you’ll find an “open performance kitchen” where you can watch the staff build and bake your pizza, see fresh herbs and vegetables being grown on the back wall, and peer into the shop’s “dough room,” where the homemade mozzarella and dough are created. Choose from one of their house pies or customize your own to fit your pizza craving.
There’s nothing you can’t find at Basil & Barley. They offer more than 20 different varieties of pizza ranging from traditional classics to modern signatures. Whatever you decide on (it’s a tough choice, we know), it’ll be a little slice of history, as each pizza is baked in an Acunto Neapolitan oven, which was imported directly from Naples, Italy. In addition to incredible pizza, the pizzeria also serves a wide selection of beers and wines, pairing perfectly with your meal.
Duca’s Neapolitan Pizza is another stop on the Neapolitan train through Colorado Springs. Bite into a slice from this local joint and be transported to an Italian village. Their pies consist of dough made from scratch each morning topped with fresh mozzarella and vegetables, baked in an original handmade Stefano Ferrara Neapolitan brick oven. With two locations in and near Downtown Colorado Springs and one off Voyager Parkway, great Neapolitan pizza is accessible to all!
Pizzeria Rustica is dedicated to providing a simple menu chock full of traditional flavors. All of the award-winning pizzas contain ingredients sourced both locally, to support our farmers, and from Italy, to ensure an authentic dining experience. Walk off the streets of Old Colorado City and into what feels like “a generations-old neighborhood trattoria in Italy.” Enjoy a slice (or ten!) and then browse the adjoining art and jewelry gallery.
While it is a chain restaurant that was founded in Albuquerque, NM, Il Vicino has become a main staple in Colorado Springs. Its location in the popular University Village makes it a great spot to grab lunch or dinner after checking out some of the local shops. They have a fantastic selection of wines and bears and they offer a spread of pizza varieties.
Love pizza and beer? Us too! Located in Downtown Colorado Springs, Iron Bird Brewing Co. is doing two of our favorite things really well. Not only do they offer amazing, prize-winning beer, but they’ve paired it with unique wood oven pizza — we love the Mayday and the Flyboy, but you really can’t go wrong! This cozy brewery is the perfect spot for a date night or grabbing drinks and food with old friends!
You haven’t lived a day in Colorado Springs if you haven’t had Louie’s Pizza. With five locations across the city, there’s no reason to deprive yourself of the local chain’s delicious pies and other Italian treats. If you’re looking for delivery or to dine in, look no further than this Spring’s favorite. Don’t forget to grab a side of cheesy bread (garlic bread topped with mozzarella) — you’ll thank us later.
What’s your pizza style of choice? From thin-crust to deep dish to gluten free — Colorado Springs has a little bit of everything!
