Valentine’s Day falls on a Tuesday this year, which means that you can easily celebrate the weekend before or after! If you’re planning on celebrating Valentine’s Day in Colorado Springs, there are plenty of options for romantic restaurants, if you’re going the traditional route. But there are a lot of other creative ways to celebrate!

Just a short drive west from Colorado Springs lies Manitou Springs, one of the most idyllic mountain towns, filled with quaint shops, scenic hikes, and stone water fountains flowing with fresh mineral water. SunWater Spa sits tucked away just minutes from the bustling Manitou Avenue. If you’re looking for a romantic and relaxing date, look no further. Book a couples’ massage (called Cupid’s Arrow Couples Massage) and then sit in one of SunWater Spa’s cedar pools as you look out on Downtown Manitou Springs and watch the sunset over Pikes Peak.

3. Take a Romantic Hike Hand-in-Hand

This option is perfect if you’re a nature lover or are working on a budget. Colorado Springs has some of the best hikes and scenic walking routes located just minutes from downtown, including Red Rock Canyon Open Space, Garden of the Gods, Seven Bridges, and Fox Run Regional Park. If you and your date are really adventurous and up for a challenge (warning, they aren’t for the faint of heart!), try hiking Red Mountain, The Manitou Incline, or Section 16.

The Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center at Colorado College is a gem in our community! Not only do they have a large permanent collection, they also feature rotating exhibitions from all around the world. Come see the famous glasswork of Dale Chihuly, the flower paintings of Georgia O’Keeffe, or the classic Americana art of Walt Kuhn. Visit on a museum free day, which is every second Saturday and third Friday of the month!

Cost: Free! (Note: the museum is generally open Wednesday through Sunday and costs only $10 for admission on regular dates)

 

 

5. Figure Out “Who Done It” at an Interactive Comedy Murder Mystery Dinner Show

Get ready for a night of laughter, delicious food, and a murder mystery that will unfold in a hilarious multi-scene dinner show. The Dinner Detective events are held at the Great Wolf Lodge in north Colorado Springs.
