Valentine’s Day falls on a Tuesday this year, which means that you can easily celebrate the weekend before or after! If you’re planning on celebrating Valentine’s Day in Colorado Springs, there are plenty of options for romantic restaurants, if you’re going the traditional route. But there are a lot of other creative ways to celebrate!

This Valentine’s Day, opt for something more memorable and unique! Here are 10 creative alternatives to celebrate Valentine’s in Colorado Springs:
Avoid the stress of making your own restaurant reservations this Valentine’s Day by booking a food tour with Rocky Mountain Food Tours (that’s us!). This option is perfect if you’re a nature lover or are working on a budget. Colorado Springs has some of the best hikes and scenic walking routes located just minutes from downtown, including Red Rock Canyon Open Space, Garden of the Gods, Seven Bridges, and Fox Run Regional Park. If you and your date are really adventurous and up for a challenge (warning, they aren’t for the faint of heart!), try hiking Red Mountain, The Manitou Incline, or Section 16.

The Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center at Colorado College is a gem in our community! Not only do they have a large permanent collection, they also feature rotating exhibitions from all around the world. Come see the famous glasswork of Dale Chihuly, the flower paintings of Georgia O’Keeffe, or the classic Americana art of Walt Kuhn. Visit on a museum free day, which is every second Saturday and third Friday of the month!

Cost: Free! (Note: the museum is generally open Wednesday through Sunday and costs only $10 for admission on regular dates)
Get ready for a night of laughter, delicious food, and a murder mystery that will unfold in a hilarious multi-scene dinner show. Look for clues to figure out who committed the crime – just be ready, it could be your or your significant other! The Dinner Detective events are held at the Great Wolf Lodge in north Colorado Springs.

Plan a daytime date with your honey to visit four of Colorado Springs’ best local breweries on an incredible guided tour. Book a show or musical at the Pikes Peak Center to celebrate Valentine’s with a fancy night-on-the-town. With an ever rotating list of award-winning productions, you’ll be amazed by shows you thought you had to be on Broadway to see. This year, the production leading up to Valentine’s Day is “Some Enchanted Evening,” which features the Colorado Springs Philharmonic playing the music of Rodgers and Hammerstein.
