Looking for the best sushi and ramen Colorado Springs has to offer? Here’s our list of the tastiest Japanese in the city!

While Colorado Springs might not be the sushi capital of the world, you may be surprised to learn that our city is chock full of incredible and freshly prepared Japanese cuisine — from sushi to ramen!

Swap your supermarket sushi cravings with hand-crafted rolls and ramen bowls from these amazing local Colorado Springs establishments:

Fujiyama

This popular Downtown Colorado Springs eatery is where traditional Japanese techniques meet a modern twist. Fujiyama has something for everyone: “sushi purists, adventurers and first-timers alike.” Using only the freshest ingredients and careful creativity, the sushi chefs at Fujiyama treat each roll as a work of art.

Our favorite rolls include the Playboy (shrimp tempura, crab, salmon, avocado, spicy mayo, and eel sauce), the Heart Attack (fried jalapeño, spicy tuna, and cream cheese), and the Grinch (shrimp tempura, spicy tuna, avocado, and tobiko).

Enjoy your sushi in their spacious indoor dining room or out on the patio as you soak up the energy of Downtown Colorado Springs’ bustling Tejon Street.

O’sae Restaurant

O’sae is the perfect place for those looking to try a bit of everything. Not only are they serving up amazing Nigiri and Sashimi, but they also specialize in traditional Japanese ramen and poke bowls. Order from their extensive sushi menu or customize a bowl to your liking.

We love their build-your-own ramen bowls served with wakame, seaweed, corn, cabbage, bean sprout, corn, enoki mushroom, ajitsuke tamago, sesame seeds and scallions. To customize, you’ll pick your choice of broth and select one of their unique toppings, like Chashu and Chicken Karaage.

Looking for something different? O’sae also offers traditional Indonesian dishes like Sate Ayam, Bakso Goreng, and Bakso Malang. Be sure to leave room for dessert so you can finish the night with some mochi or a slice of their green tea cheesecake.

Jun Japanese

Jun has been a local Colorado Springs favorite for over 30 years and is well-loved for their mouthwatering sushi, teriyaki, and kobe steak.

Not only does Jun offer traditional Japanese cuisine, but they also provide adventurous patrons with a glimpse into authentic Japanese dining traditions. Ditch your typical restaurant table and chairs for Japanese sunken tables (no shoes allowed!) or opt for an interactive experience around a Teppan grilling table.

Enjoy authentic, fresh sushi and Japanese cuisine at either of their two convenient Colorado Springs locations!

Rooster’s House of Ramen *

Take a break from the confines of tradition with a visit to Rooster’s House of Ramen, a Downtown Colorado Springs spot offering unique ramen bowls, gourmet hot dogs, and craft cocktails.

Chef Mark Henry, who appeared on Cooks vs. Cons and Food Network’s Chopped, opened Rooster’s with the goal of providing a laid-back place for members of the community to gather over great food.

Their menu is unapologetic — not limiting itself to tradition or boundaries — resulting in some of our favorite dishes in town, like their Chicken Katsu Bao Buns and Chicken Tikka Curry.

Kura Sushi

Kura Sushi opened in Colorado Springs in 2006 and offers more than over 100 varieties of sushi, sashimi, tempura, and bento! Whether you’re looking for traditional sushi rolls or a creative spin on Japanese favorites, there’s something for you on this extensive menu.

If you’re wanting to branch out from sushi rolls, enjoy their Izakaya (meaning “little dishes”) menu or delight in a culinary performance as their chefs experiment on the Teppanyaki grill.

Looking for catering for your next event? Kura is here to help! Their chefs will prepare a custom menu full of Japanese flavors, elaborate Bento spreads, and sushi appetizers!

Oka Ramen

Oka Ramen is a family-owned business passionate about bringing incredible Japanese cuisine to the Front Range, while also supporting local farmers and the local economy.

At Oka, you “are the maestro of your Ramen experience” — customize your ramen bowl with traditional Japanese ingredients or American toppings with a base of their authentic, homemade ramen broth.

Sushi Ato

Sushi Ato describes itself as a destination for “authentic and modern Japanese cuisine” — and they deliver every time! Their menu is filled with homemade Japanese ramen, gyudon, teriyaki, tempura, nigiri, and specialty sushi rolls.

Their 35-foot long sushi bar is backed by a combined 95 years of talent and skill — a team of traditionally trained chefs who deliver hand-crafted, artfully built sushi, time and time again.

Ready for a true Japanese experience? Pair your Colorado roll (spicy tuna, shrimp tempura and avocado topped with krab meat, tempura flakes drizzled with wasabi mayo and unagi sauce) with a hot sake or Japanese beer.

Ready to taste authentic Japanese dishes, right at the base of the Rocky Mountains? We can’t wait to hear what spot you try first!

Cheers! Your Rocky Mountain Food Tours Team
