The Old Depot, Colorado Springs’ historic train station, has seen many seasons since the late 1800s. While it was used as the railway gateway into the city, it is now home to one of our favorite burger restaurants.

Brakeman’s Smash’d Burger Bar specializes in “smash’d burgers,” which is two smashed wagyu beef patties. Their classic burgers comes with with American cheese, grilled-onions, pickles, and their signature 1942 sauce. If you’re feeling extra hungry, opt for three burger patties. Don’t forget to choose one of eight other toppings to create your perfect burger.

Extras: Don’t have a huge burger fan with you? Their Chicken Smashed Tenders are some of our favorite chicken dishes in Colorado Springs!

Their globally-inspired menu includes dishes like Korean Lettuce Cups and Chicken & Waffles. While you can’t go wrong with really anything on their menu, their burgers are a go-to for returning customers.

Believe it or not, co-owner Tyler Sherman actually got at McDonald’s when he was just 16 years old. He’s come a long way since then!

The Odyssey Burger is topped with cheddar cheese, pork green chili, and an egg. The Pioneer Burger features provolone, honey bacon, crispy onions, house burger sauce, lettuce, tomato, red onions, and pickles.

Located in the heart of Downtown Colorado Springs, The Skirted Heifer is a family-owned and operated burger joint in Downtown Colorado Springs. Their team takes pride in their commitment to being healthy, local, and homemade.

We recommend The Classic Skirted Heifer — a grass-fed beef patty topped with a cheddar cheese skirt, lettuce, tomato, pickle, onion, and Heifer Sauce on a garlic focaccia bun.
