It’s time to start making plans for how you’ll ring in the New Year!

Time’s Square gets a lot of buzz but it’s far from the only party. For a classic winter wonderland with thoroughly modern energy, look no further than Colorado.

Across the state, major cities are offering a wide range of New Year’s Eve activities for you to choose from. Denver, as the largest city in Colorado, puts on an impressive variety of celebrations. Meanwhile, Colorado Springs, the town in the shadow of Pikes Peak, has some magic to offer as well.

What’s your dream for the perfect New Year’s Eve? Here are a few ideas to consider:

The Broadmoor New Year’s Gala

Colorado Springs, CO

What’s Colorado Springs’ classiest NYE affair? It’s probably held at The Broadmoor. This luxurious resort offers multiple events including a traditional black tie New Year’s Gala. Here you’ll enjoy a succulent four course dinner accompanied by live music. There will be dancing in your best formal attire, a dessert bar, and a sparkling celebration when the clock strikes midnight. This gala is held at Broadmoor Hall from 7:30 PM to 1:00 AM.

What about if you prefer something a little more casual than the Gala? The Broadmoor is also throwing a New Year’s Bash at The International Center. You’re advised to dress up (but black tie isn’t required) and bring your appetite. This celebration, from 8:00 PM until after midnight, will include trendy tapas, modern music with a DJ, and a confetti cannon.

Pikes Peak Fireworks

Colorado Springs, CO

The AdAmAn Club of mountaineers is planning to continue their tradition and scale Pikes Peak on NYE. At the top, they will set off a fireworks display. You can see the lights from miles around. It’s a great show visible from almost every where in the city. A number of rooftop bars and dining venues have a great view, including the popular Cheyenne Mountain Resort. Another popular viewing spot is at the Garden of the Gods nature center, located right at the base of the mountain.

For a once in a lifetime view of the fireworks and the stunning Rocky Mountains, consider booking the New Year’s Fireworks Flight by Helicopter. This splurge is offered by Colorado Vertical and will let you see the show in a whole new way.

Royal Gorge Route Railroad New Year’s Eve Train

Cripple Creek, CO

The Royal Gorge Route Railroad has been enchanting visitors and locals alike with themed railroad rides and family friendly dining. You can book a ticket and travel through the state at the same leisurely pace as people generations ago, feasting your eyes on the mountains from a new vantage point. This track follows the same route as a rail from the 1870s Colorado Silver Rush.

This attraction has created a three-hour New Year’s Eve Dinner Train, letting you welcome the New Year from the rails. It features a three-course world-class dinner celebrating the cuisine of the region. It’s crafted from local ingredients and prepared by executive chef Jeremy Garnett. You can wander through open cars with your choice of libations (non-alcohol beverages are available as well) and enjoy the fireworks. Children ages eight and over are welcome to attend. This popular event books out quickly, so if you’re interested in a NYE on the rails, book soon.

Are you in the mood to celebrate the new year by celebrating days gone by? Hop in the car for a quick drive to downtown Denver and you can attend a Great Gatsby White Rose Gala. This Roaring 20s themed event lets you both celebrate and give back; a portion of funds raised will go to charity.

The Roaring 20s costume party lets you break out your spats or best retro flapper dress and hit the dance floor! This event encourages you to get creative, but no jeans allowed! There will be live music, a costume ball, ballroom dance exhibitions, and over 60 performers throughout the evening. When your feet get tired, relax with old-timey drinks at the themed speakeasy area. At midnight, there will be an incredible shower of confetti.

RESOLUTION Denver New Year’s Eve Party

Denver, CO

This roving 21+ party will take place in the historic McNicols Building in Downtown Denver. Your ticket to RESOLUTION not only earns you entry into the party, but it also affords you access to several open bars, two levels of dancing, a DJ, and live music. Elevate your experience with a VIP ticket that amps up your booze quality, shortens your lines, and provides you with some nibbles. This massive celebration will conclude with a count down, balloon drop, confetti, and an amazing light show.
