The Old Depot, Colorado Springs’ historic train station, has seen many seasons since the late 1800s. While it was used as the railway gateway into the city, it is now home to one of our favorite burger restaurants.
Brakeman’s Smash’d Burger Bar specializes in “smash’d burgers,” which is two smashed wagyu beef patties. Their classic burgers comes with with American cheese, grilled-onions, pickles, and their signature 1942 sauce. If you’re feeling extra hungry, opt for three burger patties. Don’t forget to choose one of eight other toppings to create your perfect burger.

Odyssey Gastropub has an extensive menu, but they have two burgers that are so darn good that they made our list! Their globally-inspired menu includes dishes like Korean Lettuce Cups and Chicken & Waffles. While you can’t go wrong with really anything on their menu, their burgers are a go-to for returning customers.
Believe it or not, co-owner Tyler Sherman actually got at McDonald’s when he was just 16 years old. He’s come a long way since then!
The Odyssey Burger is topped with cheddar cheese, pork green chili, and an egg. The Pioneer Burger features provolone, honey bacon, crispy onions, house burger sauce, lettuce, tomato, red onions, and pickles.
Extras: Odyssey’s burgers come with your choice of fries, waffle fries, coleslaw, street corn, chicharrones, or squash medley.

Shh! The Green Line Grill is a bit of a local secret! Chef Bobby Couch’s El Reno-style Onion ‘Fried’ Burger is affordable, juicy, and full of flavor. This unique burger recipe originated during the dust bowl and has since made its way out west from Oklahoma.
The Onion Fried Hamburger is a perfect blend of caramelized onions, local beef, green chili, pepper jack cheese, and jalapeño. All of their ingredients are sourced locally. Some of them include buns from Sourdough Boulangerie, Rocky Mountain Tomatoes, and Sara’s Sausage.

Located in the heart of Downtown Colorado Springs, The Skirted Heifer is a family-owned and operated burger joint in Downtown Colorado Springs. Their team takes pride in their commitment to being healthy, local, and homemade.
The name “Skirted Heifer,” comes from an extra layer of crispy cheddar cheese that creates a skirt-like shape around the patty. Their burgers have even been nationally recognized, even making an appearance on the Food Network.
We recommend The Classic Skirted Heifer — a grass-fed beef patty topped with a cheddar cheese skirt, lettuce, tomato, pickle, onion, and Heifer Sauce on a garlic focaccia bun.
Extras: Pair your burger with some sweet potato fries dipped in one of their homemade sauces and a handcrafted natural soda to drink.

Four by Brother Luck is a culinary gem that brings a creative twist to Southwestern cuisine. Chef Brother Luck, known for his appearances on Food Network competitions, offers a menu that reflects his commitment to local ingredients and bold flavors.
One standout is the Bacon Jam Burger: a juicy beef patty topped with house-made bacon jam, melted cheddar cheese, herb aioli, and pickles, all squeezed between a freshly baked bun. This burger strikes a perfect balance between savory and sweet The bacon jam adds a rich depth of flavor that elevates the classic cheeseburger to new heights.

One standout on their menu is the Mac-N-Cheese Burger. It’s a decadent combination of a juicy beef patty topped with creamy mac and cheese, crispy bacon, and green chiles, all nestled between a toasted bun. The star here is the Buffalo Burger: a lean, flavorful Colorado bison patty grilled to perfection and served on a round bun with lettuce, red onions, and pickles on the side. It’s a satisfying, protein-packed alternative to your standard beef burger, and a great way to sample local game in a casual setting.
Extras: The burger comes with Ruffles potato chips, but you can upgrade to fries, onion rings, or a their famous strawberry side salad. The Strawberry salad is a beloved Manitou Springs staple.
101 Central Plaza, Pueblo, CO 81003
This burger joint, Bingo Burger, is where guests experience juicy patties, crisp sweet potato fries, and an array of homemade sauces including the Thai Chile Ketchup and Lemon Rosemary Aioli.
Bingo Burger’s owner, Richard Warner, opened the first location in Pueblo, Colorado, with a menu centered around one of Colorado’s famous foods, the Pueblo chilies. Their unique flavors are met with sleek marketing, a fun atmosphere, and a prime location off the riverwalk in Pueblo.
We recommend their burger of the month — which rotates frequently with seasonal flavors.
Extras: Add an order of hand-cut French fries with bacon mayo dipping sauce and a local Colorado Springs craft beer.
